At OptimuM AIR, we specialize in providing fixed-wing (airplane) medical transport services designed to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care across distances that exceed the reach of traditional ground or rotor-wing ambulance services. Our aircraft are equipped to serve as airborne intensive care units (ICUs), allowing us to safely transport critically ill patients who require continuous monitoring and life-sustaining interventions. This includes individuals needing advanced circulatory support, such as:

In 2023, OptimuMAIR expanded its operations to Hawaii to provide additional support to local hospitals and strengthen the state’s critical care transport capabilities. Our services complement Hawaii’s existing transport infrastructure, helping streamline patient transfers and provide hospitals with rapid, reliable access to critical care when it matters most.

OptimuMAIR works with more than 10 health insurance providers, to help expand access to its services. As we continue to grow in Hawaii, our commitment remains focused on supporting local healthcare providers and improving access to timely, dependable medical transport services across the state.

Clinical Excellence in the Air

Our flight crews are among the most highly trained in the industry, consisting of a Registered Nurse (RN) and a Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) on every mission. All clinical providers at Optimum AIR bring a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in hospital intensive care units (ICUs), Emergency Departments, or 911 emergency response systems. Many have advanced certifications in critical care transport and trauma.
In addition to our standard two-person team, we incorporate specialized clinicians based on the patient’s acuity and transport requirements. These may include:

• Certified Clinical Perfusionists

Bedside-to-Bedside Continuity of Care

We believe that seamless care begins at the patient's bedside and doesn’t end until they are safely transferred to the receiving facility’s care team. Every Optimum AIR transport follows a comprehensive bedside-to-bedside model, which includes:
 

• Collaboration with the referring medical team to establish a pre-transport care plan

• Continuous care in-flight by providers with full patient access

• Real-time clinical interventions when necessary

• Secure and efficient hand-off to the destination care team upon arrival
