After moving between Colorado, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Texas with his family during his childhood, Devon made his way to Las Vegas where he intended to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Halfway through his education, he realized it would be difficult to provide for a family on a teacher’s salary and changed his major to nursing. He graduated with his Registered Nurse in 2006 and went to work in the Emergency Department of a small local hospital in North Las Vegas.

From there, he worked in many Emergency Departments in the area and managed The Adult Emergency Department at UMC. He worked for several EMS agencies doing both rotor and fixed air ambulance nursing and excelled as a Regional Clinical Manager for a large aeromedical company for Nevada, California, and Arizona.

Devon currently serves as both the CEO and staff nurse for ground and air ambulance transports and enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons.

A Colorado native, Carlos Esparza has lived in Las Vegas, Nevada since 2004.  He attended UNLV School of Nursing where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing.  He worked as a nurse in Med/Surg, Trauma ICU, Trauma Resus, and was a Flight Nurse for years.  In 2013, he attended the University of Cincinnati’s Masters Program, and earned his MSN (Masters of Science in Nursing) in 2015.  Carlos still holds his CFRN (Certified Flight Registered Nurse) certification and is a local Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner.  Currently, he is the CCO (Chief Clinical Officer) for OptimuMedicine.  Carlos has 3 dogs and has a loving partner who he has been with for 18 years.

With an extensive background in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Owen has held leadership roles, including Field Training Officer (FTO) and Supervisor for a large ambulance company, where he honed his skills in team management, operational efficiency, and emergency response coordination. His leadership experience extends beyond EMS, having also held positions in the Casino and Sales industries, where he further developed his business acumen.

Owen is a licensed Paramedic with hands-on experience working on ground ambulances, helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft, giving him a comprehensive understanding of both pre-hospital and critical care transport environments. His diverse background enables him to navigate the complex demands of EMS operations while driving the strategic growth of OptimuMedicine.

Owen has been with OptimuMedicine since the beginning where he was one of the first to be hired. He has always had his hand in the building of OptimuMedicine. Steadily over the years he has climbed the ranks moving to the Director of Operations position and now COO.

A devoted family man, Owen is happily married and the proud father of two children. His passion for healthcare, leadership, and family defines his personal and professional life.
