• Optimum AIR is pleased to offer fixed-wing (airplane) transport services in a patient focused logistically efficient manner.

​

• This allows our team to provide ICU-level care over distances that are not feasible for ground or rotor-wing (helicopter) ambulance platforms. Airplane transportation is available for patients including those who require circulatory support including:

  • ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation)

  • IABP

  • Impella

  • other mechanical cardiac assist devices

• Optimum AIR’s advanced providers each have a minimum of three years of hospital intensive care and/or Emergency Department (RN’s), or 911 system experience (Paramedics). Our clinical team members undergo extensive onboarding and continuing education to ensure advanced critical care practices and current technology are provided to patients in our care. Our standard clinical flight teams consist of one Registered Nurse and one Critical Care Paramedic. We also utilize Physicians, Respiratory Therapists, and Perfusionists based on patient complaint and acuity, along with specific transport logistics.

• Each transport includes bedside-to-bedside patient care. We collaborate with the patient’s medical team to formulate a plan and determine the care that is needed during transport. Care is provided during the transport by the clinical team, who have full access to the patient. Our clinical team then delivers the patient to the appropriate location at the receiving facility.
